Further Exploring the 7 Kingdoms: a Closer Look at Game of Thrones

Right now, for the second time, I am starting the Game of Thrones. I first started it over the summer, but couldn't concentrate on the plot. Now that I have a little more time on my hands, I'm trying to notice every little detail. Although I'm not that far into it, I have to put this out there, THIS BOOK HAS A LOT OF PLOT THREADS! A variety of settings, plots and characters really make this book for someone ready to focus on the seven kingdoms, and the seven kingdoms alone! I mean, I'm not saying it's not addictive, and it's definitely not the hardest thing in the world, it just takes a while to get into the loads and loads of description that come with each plot.
In Game of Thrones, the setting is a half-fantasy, half-medieval land. One king rules over seven kingdoms, and smaller rulers rule over the kingdoms individually as well. In some parts of this land, it will be summer for nine years, and then winter for seven. When the king needs a new right hand, he summons his old friend, Neddard. Neddard Stark rules over Winterfell, one of the kingdoms. So far, he has decided to go, although the job is going to be extremely hard!       When my mom and dad read the book this summer, my mom mentioned that in the descriptions in the books are just like the ones in Harry Potter. In Harry Potter, long descriptions of food make the book a little more directed towards not as complex readers. When my dad heard this, however, he vigorously defended the series, because he loved them! Either way, the book so far is absolutely fabulous, and I really recommend it. It's a very complicated book, with some very sexual themes. NOT SUITED FOR THE YOUNGSTERS!
I  think this book as definitely pushed me as a reader. However, it wasn't so challenging that I completely abandoned it. This time, i'm going to read it compleely. And finish the series (hopefully)., I'd love to start watching the show, which my parents, like the book, absolutely adore. I hope y'all check the books out!
